The Sweet Sixteenth Fantasy Bowl was the most exciting and by far the best Fantasy Bowl in league history. |
| The Magic Show took an 18 point lead with Drew Brees NO scored 12 and Matt Forte Chi scored 6 on Thursday night. The Armstrong Da*Boys struck early on Sunday with 6 from Dominic Rhodes Ind and 3 from Jason Elam Atl. Then the Show struck twice quickly with Larry Johnson throwing a controversial touchdown and Michael Turner with a 1 yard plunge for the 30-9 lead. With that, you would think that this game was all but over, however Aaron Rodgers GB scored 6, Dominic Rhodes Ind scored 6 and Elam Atl adding 4 more, it was only a 5 point game. Then with Sammy Morris NE and Rhodes Ind getting 6 each, the Da*Boys took a 37-35 lead. Then, Stephen Gostkowski NE added 2 more extra points to give him 7 overall points to tie the game 37-37. And that is where it ended and the Melton Magic Show capture their very first ETFFL Fantasy Bowl Championship 39-37 in overtime. | ||||

To keep with the tradition of unveiling next seasons Fantasy Bowl logo during the Fantasy Bowl week, here it is. |

After receiving several replies both online and in person about me closing the league following this season, all of which asked me not to, has made me reconsider those thoughts. There will be some, if not several changes though. |
Some of the changes that I have been pondering is: There will be “Add-Drop” days or times, these will only be the times that any moves can take place. Most likely will fall on Wed-Sat, and follow the same rules as the existing waiver rules that we have. Basically, if two or more teams want to acquire the same player, that player will go to the worst team. This will end the dispute on what team got the request in first. And will also increase the competitive edge of the league. |
Another change will be the “reserve” position. The reason that the reserve spot was created was that if a franchise type player was dinged up and was going to miss a few weeks, you wouldn’t have to eat zeros to keep him. This was not created to horde players. So, I’m thinking that the only way a player can be placed on reserve, they must have started at least 2 games or have been drafted then injured. Another change would be to charge $20.00 to place a player on the reserve spot. I’m a little iffy about that one though. |
If a player is on his bye week he cannot be cut, acquired or reserved. Trying to do so, will cost you the $5.00 and void the transaction. |
I’m still feeling pretty strong on the idea of reducing the league to 12 teams though. If that happens, the reserve spot will probably be increased to 2 or 3 positions. And doing the membership by invitation only. Let me know if you have any ideas, or any comments on these ideas. |
